Tip 1: Drink Water

Water has since ages been known for its magical effect for a naturally glowing skin. It is also a treatment for which we do not have to spend a single buck. As the doctors and nutritionists suggest, we should have at least 8-10 glass of water per day in order to avoid dehydration and end up having a dull skin. The intake should be even more for people who are engaged in strength and resistance training or any other sports aswe lose a lot of water through perspiration during a typical 45 minute workout or sports training session.

Tip 2: Watch Your Diet

We should be aware of the relationship between our diet and a healthy skin. If we stick to our habit of eating food high in fat and sugar content cooked in grease then it is bound to reflect on our shape, size and skin texture. Below are a few food types mentioned briefly to help choose the right kind of food for a healthy and glowing skin –

Fish Oil - Fish contains those “good fats” that are essential for our skin. You can get it from tuna, salmon, and sardine. If you are a vegetarian then you may have it in the form pills as a dietary supplement after consulting a nutritionist.

Fruits and vegetables – They are not only high in all essential vitamins but also are a major source of dietary fibres. A healthy stomach is directly related to healthy skin and dietary fibres help in a smooth bowel movement.

Nuts – Hazelnuts and almonds are a rich source of vitamin E and it’s not a secret that vitamin E is very important for a healthy skin.

Tip 3: Exercise

Exercise is important not only for our physical and mental health but also for our skin. Exercise keeps a check on our fluctuating hormonal levels and stress hormones like androgen and cortisol which affects our skin negatively. Also, we get rid of a lot of toxins through sweating while exercising which otherwise would have stayed inside our body.

Tip 4: Take Enough Rest

Our body repairs the damaged cells and tissues and replaces the dead with new ones while we are asleep. Therefore if we do not get sufficient rest, it directly reflects on our skin. Though it varies from person to person, it is recommended that we should have at least 6-8 hours of undisturbed sleep.

Tips for better results –

1. Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake as it dehydrates the skin.

2. Smoking causes premature aging of the skin.

3. Clean your skin properly once you return home after long hours to wash away those pollutants and dust particles.

4. Avoid excessive exposure to sun.
